We are a climate tech startup making green energy more usable. We contribute to the green transition by enabling you to shift your electricity consumption. Specifically, we want to aid the greenification of electricity grids by making demand-side management possible for the masses.

Guide to reducing your Co2-Emissions

Plane deinen Verbrauch. Mit unserer bis zu 48-stündigen Vorhersage kannst den Tag vorausplanen und die besten Zeiten auswählen, um die Wäsche zu waschen, dein E-Auto zu laden und deine Heizungsnutzung zu optimieren.
Überwache deinen Verbrauch. Indem du uns mitteilst, wann du welches Haushaltsgerät genutzt hast, können wir deine CO₂-Emissionen berechnen. Wenn du deinen Verbrauch grüner gestalten möchtest, geben wir dir auch Anpassungsempfehlungen, um weniger CO₂ auszustoßen.
Frequently asked questions
Does it matter where in Germany I am? No. The German electricity grid is unified and all sources feed into the same system. So no matter where you are, you get the same electricity that is currently being produced. This way, we can calculate what mix of electricity sources is currently coming out of your plug.
What if I have a green electricity provider? Mintensity will still benefit you! Your electricity provider is responsible for feeding as much electricity into the grid as you consume. In theory, with a green provider, this is 100% clean electricity. However, you do not consume this exclusively, as your provider does not have a direct power line to you, but feeds into the unified grid. And even your green electricity provider cannot conjure up clean electricity when there is no sun or wind. That's why you're still helping the environment with Mintensity, even if you buy green electricity!
How do I track my usage? During the setup process, you will be able to select your exact devices so that whenever you register the usage of a certain device, we can give an exact estimate of the energy consumption and emissions related.
How expensive is Mintensity Home? Mintensity Home is free to use in the basic tier.
Which plattforms will Mintensity Home support? Initially, Mintensity Home will be made available as a Web-App and later for Android devices.
When is Mintensity Home expected to be released? Currently, we are targeting to release a first version to the public in mid-March 2024.
What data does Mintensity use for approximating CO2-intensity? We use device manufacturers' information on their devices' energy consumption and different public and private data providers for real time energy data.
How does the forecasting work? We are developing a proprietary forecast algorithm that will give longer-term forecasts than other providers.
